Second birthdays and GCSE results

Published August 22, 2013 by thatstrangegirls

Hey

So yesterday was my baby sisters birthday – she turned two! The day had a sort of difficult start with arguing from Mum and her boyfriend and a four hour trip to the hospital when he revealed he was having heart problems, but he came home fine. There was some sort of argument on the way back with my sister in the back (my brother and I stayed at home while mum, my sister and her boyfriend went to the hospital and then to Tesco.) The argument meant that it was a pretty tense atmosphere when they walked through the door. However He dropped by to give my sister a birthday card – technically the first thing she’d open by this point. This sort of mellowed everybody out. They kept changing their mind on what they wanted to do for her birthday once we got home, so we ended up going to Brooklands (a sort of park with lots of things to do), going on a mini train ride that she completely adored and then taking her up to the park to play. We finished the day with icecream, and then went home to open her presents from all of us and my Aunt that had arrived.

We had pizza for dinner and sat and watched In The Night Garden. Her favourite presents were easily the Mickey Mouses’ Club house toy she got, and her little Wendy house. Once my sister and brother were in bed, the day unfortunately ended with Mum and her boyfriend arguing to a point where Misty (Mum’s boyfriend’s dog) was sat on my lap cowering. It was pretty scary. Raised voices and slamming doors… then mum asked him to leave. He grabbed a bag of his stuff and left, leaving Misty. He eventually came back for Misty and demanded that mum give him his dog, but Misty refused to move. She was so scared and if anything, tried to get closer to me. Mum ended up having to pick her up and hand Misty to him. He then procceeded to call our house around 10-20 times in the space of an hour and even rung my phone once.

Mum ended up crying on the floor. I’ll admit, it wasn’t the way i’d expected the day to pan out. I’d hoped for a good day for Anna’s sake… and wound up with this. To be honest, Anna barely noticed all the arguing. She was too busy playing with her new toys and demanding I let her play with the Talking Tom 2 app on my phone.

I don’t know what to do.

In a lot happier news, I got my GCSE results back today… I got a B overall in science and a B in RE! My hand was shaking so much while I opened that envelope… my dad whom had come down from Horsham to get the results with me even commented that he’d never seen me shake that much. He also got two B’s and an A! He got a B in math and RE, and got an A in science! I am so pleased for him. (He took his math GCSE early, which is why he has an extra GCSE.)

I’m also going to go visit Cornwall later, for a few days and to see family. I’m gonna try to learn to surf.. and shall fail miserably. Hopefully the weather isn’t too bad

These last two days give me mixed feelings. I’m happy about my results, but my sisters birthday kind of leaves a sour taste in my mouth.. I guess it’s just lucky she probably wont remember it.

Until next time!

Going to the aquarium

Published August 18, 2013 by thatstrangegirls

Hey,

So a few days a go I went to Brighton Sealife Centre with Mum, my brother, baby sister and Him. It was a super hot day and just as hot inside the sealife centre. I originally planned to go on a date with Him to the sealife centre, then mum suggested we all go together – she’d pay with her discount tickets, but the deal was we had to help her keep an eye on my soon-to-be two year old sister. We agreed.

The traffic on the way to the sealife centre was ridiculous. It took us over an hour to reach the place in the heat. Once we were actually inside my sister ran off almost immediately, completely enamoured with the different fish. Baring in mind my sister has never seen a fish in real life before, it was pretty funny. She obviously favoured the manta ray (later christened sea pancake) as she returned to them a lot over the hour and a half we were in there. She also loved the tunnel where you could walk under the animals and see turtles, sharks and other sealife creatures swim overhead. The turtles were also huge!

She wasn’t too keen on the lights on the floor in the octopus part of the sealife centre. The lights made it look like there was water on the floor so we had to run through it several times to show her it was okay.

Eventually we escaped the sealife centre and had something to eat on the steps. He wasn’t feeling too well so we didn’t stay for too long. Instead, we explored the pier and saw all the different shops and just… tourists everywhere.

He wasn’t too keen on the pier as you could see the waves underneath (can’t swim) and the wood looked rotten in some places, so we didn’t walk on it too long. We eventually went home and messed around at my house.

All in all it was a fun day.

I get my GCSE results soon! Aaaah i’m so scared.

I ALSO have an officially two year old baby sister the day before… it’s getting so busy now.

Until next time.

Fish spa and arguments

Published August 8, 2013 by thatstrangegirls

Hey,

So a few days ago I went into town and got my hair highlighted as a belated birthday present from my mum. The spa also threw in a free ‘fish spa’. Essentially what this is two giant fish tanks filled with fish that eat the dead skin off of your feet. However – it doesn’t hurt. It feels like jacuzzi bubbles all over my feet. At first I was freaking out and didn’t want to do it, but it actually wasn’t that bad once your feet are in the tanks. I tried to focus on my J.K Rowling book – to no avail. I got a T-Bar blonde highlights that actually seem to have lightened my hair. I’m very happy!

I have entered NEO magazines competition to win a 3Ds with Animal Crossing New Leaf! – I hope I win. I REALLY need that game in my life. It looks so fun! I loved the original game and would love to play this game too. The only problem being I don’t own a DS or the game..

However, my friends have all been arguing a lot lately. One of my friends blocked Him for ‘being himself’. That in depth explanation coupled with the fact that this friend puts Him down at every opportunity.. He isn’t happy. He’s not making me chose between them or anything, but he goes off on angry rants about it quite a lot. This has made him a lot more hot-headed and has meant that he’s seems to be arguing with me about anything and everything. He then spends ages afterwards apologizing and begging me not to dump him – which never even crossed my mind.

I don’t know what to do.

GCSE results soon! I am SO scared…

See you for now!

GCSE results and thoughts on the future

Published August 2, 2013 by thatstrangegirls

Hey,

As you probably gathered from the title, I’m getting my GCSE results this month… as in I get them in 20 days. How scary. God i’m scared. What if I failed? What if I passed?!

Ah, it’s too much stress.

Besides having Him around or going round his house practically every day of the summer, i’ve not really done much. When I was little I always pictured that my teenage summer holidays would be filled with parties – never been to a proper party -, Concerts – never been to a concert – and just having fun like they do in the movies. In reality? None of that is true. I’m wasting my holidays like a pro.

Also, I got a new phone. It’s an L3II. It’s my first Android phone. It’s so cool. My other phone refused to turn on so I thought ‘what the heck’ and threw it at a wall. It turned on immediately. Luckily mum still offered to buy a new phone.

I also get my braces off soon! I get them off in September and get a retainer. I don’t mind that so much though, as I can take a retainer out.

Plus, when I was little I never imagined that there would be an enormous pressure on me from parents, friends and society in general to get a job and to start working. He is already going to apply for jobs. I’m happy for him and wish him all the luck, but it means we wont be able to hang out as much as we used to.

I want a job, get me wrong, but I want time to choose a job at my leisure. I don’t want to be forced to get one. That takes the enjoyment out of it and could cause me to make rash decisions.

Thing is, I can apply for most jobs when I turn 16. I’ve decided that this is gonna be my last sort of jobless summer, but it still sucks.

Well, life’s not fair, I guess. The older I get, the more I realise that nobody knows what they’re doing and that everybody is improvising.

I was never very good at improvising.

Until next time.
